Confederation of Indian MSME in ESDM and IT (CIMEI), an association formed by the Electronics and Semiconductor Segment leaders to support the MSMEs in the Electronics System Design & Manufacturing (ESDM) and IT.

CIMEI is a unique association in India which has been fostering entrepreneurship and productivity in the region, thereby helping in the success of Make in India & Atmanirbhar Bharat among MSME community.

We strongly advocate to build “High Value Added “ecosystem of ESDM through end to end manufacturing including the most critical component level manufacturing in India. Today most of the products are manufactured in the country through Complete Knockdown (CKD) and Semi Knockdown modes, where the value addition to the country is less than 10%. Therefore one of the CIMEI’s goals is to encourage “Design to Manufacturing” along with local component manufacturing to improve local value addition.

As per MoS Shri Bhanu Pratap Singh MSME exports are going to play a role of a catalyst in restoring the strength of the Indian economy .With more than 63 million MSMEs spread across the geographical expanse of India, MSMEs have been contributing nearly 40% of overall India’s exports, contributing to approx. 6.11% of the country’s manufacturing GDP & 24.63% of the GDP from services sector. Identifying this opportunity CIMEI has a vision to achieve the following goals during the next 5 years

  • Assist micro and small industries in market reach and market development through MSME schemes and remove any hurdles in reservations for MSMEs at state and central government level. 
  • Assist micro and small industries in fund raising by collaborating with Government and financial institutions and create awareness about the existing schemes among our member community.
  • Establish Skill development centers for ESDM industry across the country by partnering with government, educational institutes and private sector industries on a PPP model.
  • Collaborate with government in policy making and remove any policy hurdles for MSME sector so that a good supply chain is established across the country for smooth functioning of MSME sector, by increasing the component level manufacturing and local  value addition.  
  • Assist government in achieving the challenging target of 1 trillion in exports by 2027 by increasing the share of ESDM sector through awareness programs, quality programs and manpower training.   

CIMEI is a pan Indian association and we closely work with Government , private sector and MNC organizations alike so that MSMEs gets maximum benefits from all the supply chain partners in the country.

CIMEI has already started operations and opened chapters in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Utter Pradesh, New Delhi, Maharashtra and Gujarat. We are planning to have our presence in Assam, NE States and other states soon. CIMEI is also open to collaborate with other Industry associations for the benefit of ESDM sector and the country.  

CIMEI proudly announces signing of MOU with APETIA of Andhra Pradesh government and many more state governments and educational institutes have expressed their eagerness to sign MOU with CIMEI in the near future
